Craft time!

It's about mummy, ok... Daddy just said mummy was doing some crazing things again... Well, how many years mummy can get the chance to do crazy crafts like now? LOL!

It's all about childhood memory, moreover arts and crafts are something mummy would love to share with the kids if mummy have time to scrap and mess around with colours and papers. Now is the perfect time and mummy still have lots of things to do with En En and ZHeng when they grow older...

Sorry yeah... coz right now let mummy do the messing games solo first, furthermore at midnight!!! Haha... it's good to be a scrapper as everything is ready on hands!

The first craft

Playing with paper punches and stamping! No choice, mummy got to bring out all the tools and papers for scrapbooking to introduce En En some paper craft or maybe scrapbooking in future... Oh well, she loves it!

The flowers in white and black ink stamped by En En, mummy embellished them later with the details. Nice or not? Will blog about where this to be used in next post.

No production for scrapbooking

It's 2008 now and I can't believe I never scrap any Layout (LO) since the beginning of the year. I really miss scrapbooking and I wish I can finish using all the pattern papers and cute stickers /embellishments that I have in my stash.

Hubby and I are hooked on movies lately. We watched LOTR extended version almost every alternate night after En En went to bed, be it after 10.30pm or 11.30pm... I should use the time for doing some scrapping but just too lazy now. I'm crazy over knitting and I never stop practicing everyday even it's just a 15 minutes slot per day... so determine (this is when I'm really in the mood!) Obviously I'm not in the mood to scrap even there's only 4-5 pages to complete En En's mini album.

Hopefully I'm able to come out with something for this coming weekend. Finger crossed!

19 Months Old

Today marks that En En reached 19 months old. She's picking up vocab and words very fast now. She mimics our pronunciation very much regardless it's in Mandarin, English or Malay. She gets almost 70-90% accurate.

Vital:

Height : almost the same as previous month
Weight : 11kg (no increment)
Teeth : 16 with some still sprouting halfway

Bowel movement issues:
Serious constipation everyday. We are giving her oral solution to ease her bowel movement as the solution will help to soften and retain moisture of the stool. as long as we skip one day without solution she won't have the urge to do her big business. Temporarily have to use this solution besides looking for anymore ideas to encourage her to take more fluid!

Diet:
Basically the same and she started to take cauliflower, bayam, bak choy,... more fiber to help her bowel movement.

She still have night feeding depending on her sleep time interval. Mummy has to calulate after 6 hours after she doozed off, it's time to feed her 4 oz milk. If En En doesn't make noise or sleep like a log then no need.

Words that she can speak and able to identify (the item):

van - van

air-plane - aeroplane

boat - boat

shhee - ship

ehh-con - air conditioner

ku4 - pants iin mandarin

yi1 - shirts or blouse in mandarin

shui3 - water in mandarin

"pot-pot" - girl's private part

i-ta - guitar

bib - bib

ba-tup - bathtub

egg - egg

o-ttie - potty

che-air - chair

hw-ing - swing

tree - tree

hua - flower in mandarin

mamiee is mummy and papa now becomes papi!!!

En En tries to mimic what we tell her again when we ask her to say it out loud. words that consists of 2 to 3 parts of different vowel is still difficult for her to say one shot. For example when we said flower, she only manage to said "-Wer".

Overall Development:

1) able to push the little stool to the door, snapped or bugged us to get the door key, climb up the stool and use to key for attempting to escape from the house.

2) no more bathtub for her bath since she will lay egg in the bathtub not willing to get up till she or us empty the water in the bathtub. There was one day she asked Ah Mah "ba-tup bu4 yao4 ah?" (No need to use bathtub in mandarin)
She misses the baby bathtub.

3) able to drink from cup very steady now provided the water in the cup is not full.

4) knows to feel shame and get angry if we tease her when she's wihout a diaper or clothes.

5) understand that when going out from the house need to wear shoes. She will quickly take her shoes and ask us to wear for her after she fails to wear on her own.

6) if she doesn't want to drink water or read that particular book she will place back to their original place. Book in bookshelf and bottle goes back to table.

7) mummy only brought en en to the pool once and she remembers it until today. Whenever she see the sea or a pool she will shout:"Miee... pom pom (means swimimng for baby talk)!" She is waiting for a day that I will bring her to the pool again.

Because it's Christmas

I went to post office today to get my mail weight and intended to buy stamps. I made a few christmas cards for a few friends. It's time to post out. My handmade cards and my envelope from recycle papers weight heavier than normal one. I was preparing to pay maybe RM1 or 2 for the stamps even it's just post within the country.

To my surprise, the clerk from Pos Malaysia told me 30 cents for all christmas cards nationwide! What are you waiting for... send out now regardless of the weight as long as you stated it's a Christmas card! Bravo to pos malaysia.

Butterfly

We teach En En about butterfly when she's still a crawling baby. Right now, she loves butterfly. When mummy was doing scrapbooking one day and thought of using butterfly in the layout. En En was sleeping but woke up when mummy was working halfway for the layout.

As usual, this little one is curious about what mummy is doing with all her pretty photos and she always asked me to carry her up and see what's mummy's creation (not really la... to disturb me actually). Mummy realised En En loves colourful papers and stuffs so mummy use the craft knife and cut out 2 paper butterflies shape and asked En En what is it? Without hesitation En En replied: " Fly, fly!"

Then mummy asked En En to show everyone what she had in her hand so that she can get busy for a while while mummy able to quickly finished off the layout before she came and disturb next round.

En En saw real butterflies before in mummy's hometown and we plan to bring her visit the Butterfly Farm in Penang. Anyway, the entrance fee at the moment is RM10 per person (maybe higher in future, who knows?) and daddy said wait till En En abit older then we can go together.

I'm so into these....

You know what I mean... and I read this,

and these...

and finally I proudly annouce that I CAN KNIT!!! Even still slow... LOL

I just realized this is another way to lose weight... Paik Ling, you got me?? Keep your hands BUSY!!!

Baby Doggie Bagpack

This is a free gift from daddy. We all know that En En loves dog. Daddy won it from the arcade games from a shopping mall. Yeah... daddy is still a big kid and what mummy interested is En En's reaction when she saw the doggie bag. She was screaming out loud!!!

Look at this little girl. She was so happy and busy checking on the dog. Too bad her passion for the doggie bag only last for 2 days and she still prefer her little Pooh bear for all times. Guess this doggie back pack has nothing to attract En En as it can't move or bark!

My Birthday Gifts

This is a very backdated post, my Bday is in the early of Oct. This is the year that I rewarded myself alot... maybe too much according to DH.

So these are the gift I ordered for my own, DH helped me to bring back from US!
100% pure wool and 100% cotton knitting yarn! They are total 22 balls with each ball from USD1.99 - USD2.49, but they don't do international shipping. So, I'm lucky to have DH travel to US. Will knit for years with them since I'm a slow knitter... haha!

Acrylic stamp for my scrapbooking project! Still keeping them as I do not purchase any inkpad but I think this is going to be fun!
The next one is the gift from DH which I long to have and he supported me to go green!

It's a set of cloth menstrual pad!!! Made of bamboo velour and love them so much... extremely soft and luxurious to touch! En En got modern cloth diaper and mummy now also got modern cloth mentrual pad, how nice! Want to know more about cloth mama pad, stay tune for my update on my diapering blog.

So, I'm officially broke now since the gifts for myself were all in USD... *sigh*

Back to Scrapbooking mood...

I think I'm having back the mood to do scrapbooking (sb) after been abandoned it for cloth diapering. Completed 2 layout (LO) last weekend and feel so contented.

Wow... was inspired by local scrappers in a sb forum that I recently join and my head was full of ideas now. Can't wait to let my creativity ideas flow out into my LO asap. I always believe sb doesn't have to be expensive because once you get the necessities of sb such as the cardstock, pattern paper, acid-free album and some specialty adhesive the rest you can get it in local stationary shop. I got ribbons, lace, button, and some colorful yarn from a local sewing supply shop while searching for knitting yarn. That's one stone kill two birds... hehe... I may get some artificial flower for my LO from the flower shop too.

Saw a few challenge in sb links and feel tempted to participate for fun. Never do this before but I think it will be very interesting. I even think of creating another blog only for sb but feel reluctant coz that's mean my sleep time will be gone in no time... Guess I'm not meant for blogging about PPP for $$$ but for interesting posts, probably yes.

Don't ask me when I'm going to have a blog for music... I think I will pengsan (faint) even before it get started!

Unexpected from local store

A few days back while I was doing some window shopping at a newspaper/magazines shop, those located in the shopping mall and found a very cute stamping wheel for kids and it is very attractive. There are some colorful stickers too. Just in time for me to add on some kits for my scrapbooking supplies.

There are 5 wheels from the stamping kit, each with a different colors. All you need to do is open the lid, press the stamp on paper and drag it over the page, see?? So easy and it only cost RM3.90.

Scrapbooking Crop Session

One sample that I used inked paper edges, stamping and flower punch for this layout.
This is a back dated post. I joined a scrapbooking crop session somewhere last week and it is the only crop session for this month. It is basically a small gathering & sharing moments among scrappers and we did have a few interesting conversations and a cup of tea.
In Western country, scrappers will take turn to organise this crop session among themselves. Of course we got to bring our own supplies along. During these few hours, we shared ideas and inspirations, we can use freely on the cool tools like stamp, foam stamps with paint, flower and shaped punches, different types of ink and so on. It is a good way to experience with the usage of scrapbooking tools. There are lots of endless creativity from everyone using the same tools.
In Malaysia, scrapbooking is not trendy yet but this crop sessions is very popular among scrappers outside of our country.

Scrapbooking Supplies

Had been to scrapbooking store twice in a week! Gosh... I'm burning my $$ and I got so many stuffs from the store again! I even bought the extension for the album, means I decided to do scrapbook seriously now.
I think I'm addicted and I just can't help myself not to have the pretty pattern-papers and those cute and stylist embellishments. Being a lazy mum, I know what's best for my projects and I was once determine to do hand cutting alphabets and embellishment for my scrapbook. But when I visited sb store, there are so many easy ways out and that's means more money got to be out in order to get the conveniet.LOL

The pattern papers are so nice and pretty, how to resist??I went twice, snaps a few different designs and colours papers and was so happy as I can back to sb work!

Cardstocks: Various colours group to choose from I just got the pastel colours for my daughter's scrapbook.

Pattern Papers: Tempting already....

Embelisment: they are little helpers and very cute and handy

In fact, you can even think of something and come out as embelisment too, no need to buy that much.

Tools: a must for SB. I even get a craft knife as I just love to do paper cut-outs and paper piecing.

Sleepless Mummy

It's been quite a few days mummy slept after 12.30am and weekend even broke record - 2a.m! Normally I'll be on the bed after En En sleeps around 10-11pm. Since addicted to scrapbooking, this hobby really consume alot of my time now.
With En En around, there is nothing much I can do but wait for the appropriate time to start scrapping. Normally, it's after En En go to bed. Phew! It's not easy to do scrapbooking till midnight but the idea keeps on coming out and I just can't wait to translate that into my scrapbook.

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!

It took me almost 2 weeks to complete these 2 masterpiece, not because it's difficult but the chance to get the right timing to sit down and concentrate on my sb work seems so impossible. I only need 2 or 2 and half hours to complete one sb work. Another factor is En En is like a glue on me and whatever I'm doing she wants to get close and join. So, that's mean I got to delay and delay. There are still more to come out but curretly never print out the selected photos yet. So, it's a temporary break for me to catch up with my sleep time.

Overwhelm with SB

Wow... gorgoues..... nice layout.... cute embellishments..... excellent colors and contrast..... full of love & passion.... how nice the look of this end result..... huh? they have stiches and paper craft added in Scrapbooking!!!
Oh Gosh... I think I'm overwhelm with those samples from scrapbook.com gallery.... they are all very unique and pretty with lots of decorations, rich colours, just-nice contrast, beautiful art motif and so on..... Everyone is so artistic and they have their masterpiece display right here, in front of the PC with just a click away. How I wish I can be that creative but of course provided I have lots of spare time and money. It's a great way to scrap down the moments in your life of your precious one. Just anyone, anywhere and anything.
Alright, alright..... I must settle my mind and calm myself in order to take baby step in exploring scrapbooking. Everything must start out one by one especially if I'm going to add on crafting as this needs some skills though. Luckily, daddy support what I'm doing, thanks so much even it's just a spirited-support (means I buy the material on my own, sobbing...... :O( ) Well, perhaps I can add some crochet in my scrapbook.... this may take ages to come out with one that really work LOL.

Papers for Scrapbooking

My boss was doing spring-cleaning in his office room today and asked us to help him to filter out files with unused and outdated documents. Guess what! I found out there are lots of colours papars (in fact, it's file divider)and brochures in good quality paper printing. After asking around that nobody wants to be the owner for "second-hand" items, I decided to keep them and use in my scrapbook later.
Indirectly, these papers suddenly inspired me on the usage in my scrapbook and feel so good as I can save money on papers already. *Thumbs Up*

Scrapbooking

Finally able to try out scrapbooking, roughly laid my idea into a finished product now. Ahem... this product is NOT FOR SALE and has copyright reserved.
Well, it's quite fun doing the cutting and drawing stuff and you need to have time along with some imagination and lots of inspirations from anything on doing this type of art work. At least, as for me, I really think so but it's too early to give any conclusion as I'm just exploring and new to scrapbooking.
There's only ONE shop that sells scrapbooking product in Penang and located at Burmah Road. It is true that you will spend money on the album and papers as they are not cheap. Look at what I'd got from the shop:
Papers
Thanks to Irene in providing tips and advice on starting out scrapbooking. I enjoy and have fun with scrapbooking!
