Sick Baby, Panic Parent...

Today was a terrible day for En En and mummy. En En was on drip since she didn't want to take in anything including medicine. We had to force-feed her while she's screaming her lung out! Daddy got to lock her arms and legs while mummy got to hold her head firmly in order to pump medicine for her.

While she's awake, she will asked to go "kai-kai" and the place that we can go is the playground room in paed center. Luckily there were a few children who will played with En En when they were there together. So, basically the day is long... and mummy know that En En also feel boring to stay in there. This is the only entertainment En En had for her waking period.

Due to new environment and phobia of the nurses who came close to us, En En barely can sleep even after injection. Her will power was so strong to refuse dozed off in the ward room. She was crying to ask us bring her to the playground room in the paed center even it's already 11pm! She kept on crying and screaming if we ever tried to go back to the ward room. Every other children already went to dreamland but not En En. Daddy had no choice seeing our little one cried for almost 2 hours non-stop and requested paed to give her another jab to release her tension and relax her muscle so that she can sleep soundly to get better rest. Otherwise... everyone around her will be affected especially mummy who needs more rest like her.

En En showed some interest in food and she was asking for "mum-mum" during breakfast time. this is a good sign, even she just had a little bit but it's an improvement. Medicine? Still need to force-feed her. *Sigh*


She felt drowsy and tired after some walk and medicine but she just refused to sleep in the crib and insisted mummy to bring her "kai-kai" with eyes half close. She kept on crying for another 1 hour and just made eveyone felt bad about her crying as her voice turned coarse. Lastly, Ah Kong & Ah Mah applied with pead to get En En back home in the afternoon and sent in by evening.


So, we went home for lunch and En En managed to drink 4oz milk and 4oz ribena in that afternoon. Then at late afternoon, we managed to get her ate 1 bowl of very watery oatmeal. At least we feel relieve as she has more fluid intake. One thing never change is En En still refuse anyone else to hold her except mummy. Mummy's biceps were so painful after holding her for the past 2 days and finally asked the help of our maid to help mummy in this:

We turned out with a homemade sling. Mummy like this idea as it ease the pain of the arms and more comfortable for En En too. :) So, temporarily had to use this solution to wear our clingy baby.

Brought En En back to the hospital around 5.30pm and surprisingly she didn't protest and she gave some cooperation when it's feeding time. She took dinner even very little and she is able to take medicine when we tried to spoon-fed her. Hurray! No need to force-feed already. Mummy was so proud of her improvement.

She slept at 9pm even she was complaining and crying for a while but much better than the night before. Never woke up for the whole night so mummy and daddy also can have a better sleep.

Today

Finally pead announced that En En can go home already! When mummy asked her whether she wants to go home she said NO! Huh?? Asked her still want to stay in the hospital she said YES! Oh no... must be the attraction of the playground room.

En En was discharged from the hospital about 10.45am. Bad news is Ah Mah is suspected to contract the same disease since this morning...

Dark New Year and 2 Down!

Evening

Suddenly Mummy was having diarrhea before went back home and felt nausea! That kind of feeling never return since mummy was having it while pregnant with En En for 7 months! First thought in mind is the wind inside the bloated tummy was tumbling up and down.
Well, it's new year eve and Mummy wish to see En En earlier and forgot about the nausea feeling. On the way back home while driving... mummy vomitted in the car! While still speeding through the traffic light... LOL! There's no way to stop but never mind since it's just a few minutes to reach home.

The whole evening from 7pm till 11.30pm, mummy vomitted four times after any fluid or solid intake. It felt better if didn't took anything. Rushing to the toilet thrice and couldn't even attend En En since she was calling mummy for so many times even up to the bedroom. Mummy was sleeping like a log in the living room. All Mummy knew is En En did cuddled up with mummy afew times when mumy was sleeping downstairs.

12.05am
Mummy was getting better and stop going to the toilet after taking 2 tablets of motilium to ease the wind. Hoping to get a good night sleep with En En now. Before even stepped up the stairs, we heard a loud cry and coughing sound of our little one. Mummy then discovered En En thrown out her milk together with phlegm that cause her to cough so terrible. Consoled and persuaded her to get back to sleep. We thought everything should be fine.

2.30a.m
En En cried and woke up because of her coughing and vomitting again. Still some phlegm was discovered with little fluid. We cleaned her and she was back to sleep.

3.30a.m
A loud cry - as En En was having a hard time to sleep and vomit for another time.

4.40a.m - 5.30a.m
En En's condition not improving and vomitted for another 2 times and this time is right after every intake of fluid. We tried to make her sleep but not very sucessful as she probably has stomach pain and that bothered her alot. She passed alot of gases out and that made her even difficult to get back to sleep.

Mummy was having fever by now.

5.45a.m - 6.30a.m
Discovered En En also has fever. She kept on vomit again. It's alarming us already. Everyone suspected mummy spread the virus to En En already as we were having the exact same symptoms except En En has no diarrhoea yet. Hence, quickly packed her clothes and neccessities and rush to clinics to get confirmation.

6.45am
En En vomitted for the 7th time and doctor in clinic advised us to send the little one to ICU immediately and mummy was given afew medicine to cure for the illness. Doctor even told us it's very likely nowadays everyone is catching this type of virus and we are not the only case.

7.30a.m
Reached Adventist Hospital but there's no paed around. Took En En's height and weight's measurement. Mummy can only rememeber the weight was 11.1kg. We need to wait patiently for the paed to reach the hospital in around half an hour time.

Mummy quickly wallop down all the oral medicine as En En seems like clingy to mummy and refuse anyone else to carry her. Die la.... as we already know it's 80% En En contracted the virus from Mummy and now she still cannot let go of mummy. Mummy was so weak to hold her and walk around... but still with determination the body can go beyond our will.

Around 8.00am
Dr.Tan arrived and after examination and checking En En... he started his explainations and it's the cause of air-bound virus. 100% contracted from mummy as this virus spread very fast and anyone who get close to us will be contracted depends on the immune system. Wah! So scary... but because infants and toddlers are weaker for their condition, ok... it's the virus evolution in the body that reacts very fast so the changes is rapid and unpredicatable.

Paed advised us on what to do and how to look after her besides prescribed the medicine. En En must on lactose-free milk and paed even said it's normal that she will lose her appetite and refuse to eat as that's the reaction of the virus inside the stomach. Just be sure she's not dehydrated and take medicine on time for a day. En En was not admitted and was advised to come back again the next morning.

We went home with En En and followed pead instructions but too bad we hardly can feed her fever medicine every 4 hourly. En En was sleeping througout the day with very little appetite to eat anything. There's no more vomitting but the fever still not completely gone.

11.10pm
En En was in the dream for almost 2 hours and Mummy was glad that can give her 4oz of milk and 1 oz of water while she's sleeping.

3.30a.m
Mummy was abit worry as her fever never subside. She's getting warmer and wamer. Tried to feed her water but unsucessful.

5.30a.m
Checked her temperature and it's a dangerous 39.8 degree Celcius!!! Called the paed and was advised to admit her to hospital immediately.

6.00a.m - 8.15am
En En was given suppository and we are advised to sponge her with warm water in order to make the temperature from her body to subside faster. The whole emergency room was filled with her loud scream and cry. She clings and screams for maamiee... no matter what! En En already grows the fear of seeing nurses and the ward with so many beds for the second time! Daddy went to register and we finally settle down in the paed ward room.

Her weight went down to 10.9kg and she was so shock and frightened about what's going on to her in such a short time and can't stop screaming and crying for very long time... so heartache to hear this repeatedly.

Mummy was having headache but nothing much can be done except continue to take medicine on-time and hopefully can recover faster to take care of our little one.

Sleep in Stroller!

For the FIRST TIME!!!

Mummy didn't know why but was thrill to know that finally my little princess is able to sleep (give up to be wide awake even she's super tired!) in spite of being a baby who lack of sleep... in the stroller ever since we introduced stroller to her at the age of 5 months old.

Serious Constipation!

En En's constipation is very serious and paed told us that she has swollen anus and she will be having very difficult time for her bowel movement. It may take 6 months for a full heal... poor girl...

This condition is a result from probably a few months constipated issues whereby En En already developed the fear when it's time to pass motion. Once she feels that it hurts during the big business, she would rather keep the stool in her stomach and wait for the next day and the next day... no wonder she has bloated tummy and that's how she has stool as hard as a stone!

We tried to give her more fluid and fiber diet but still not enough to overcome her constipation problem. The main reason is she purposely refuse to finish her big business due to pain.

We have to give her oral laxative-like medicine and apply vaseline at her bottom to prevent the tear and pain when she's doing her business. Awww... mummy know this is a terrible experience. En En now has phobia and fear whenever we tried to wear her a diaper as she thought she will be having some poke at her bottom. But what to do? Mummy is so sad to hear En En's crying and moaning... and hardly can imagine if this is going to be repeated in the worst case... for the next following 6 months?

From my wardrobe

Went back home from half day work yesterday and guess what? Daddy was busy doing spring clean for the house. Salvation Army was the place for us to deliver the used clothes and material for recycle. Therefore, Mummy quickly joined in and it's the perfect time for reorganising the wardrobe as mentioned in the previous post!

Found them and couldn't imagine mummy fit in them some times ago...

Spaghetti tops!!! Was a sucker to all sort of spaghetti tops before and that was ... *Sigh* not so long-time history. Packed half of them and gave away already.

The next obssession - Bags!

Sporty, sexy, casual, dinner, multipurpose, office, ... till lately diaper bag... you name it and mummy probably have them all. The diaper bag also originally not for baby use, ok? It's converted from the multifunctional bag. Well... at least I think it's multifunctional. There are still 10 or 12 bags not inside the photo. They are in use downstairs or somewhere else in the house though...

No, mummy never give them away as they are still new and practical to use in different occassions. 1/4 of the bags are handmade and definitely not giving away! But can pass down to family members or close friends...

They said I'm too free...

To do KNITTING!!!

I shall:
- Reorganise my wardrobe
- Pack those unwanted clothes (in fact are those unfittable one as I never shrink back to my pre-pregnancy size *Sigh*)& send them to recycle center
- Wash all my handbags and shoes
- Collect those spoiled high-heels which already been repaired for a few times and dump them in the dustbin
- Finish off my music thoery exercises
- Practise the piano
- Complete En En's mini scrapbook album (just a few pages...)
- Try out the ink with calligraphy pen which MIL just passed to me
- Start to bake cookies for CNY

I can't get my head off knitting patterns and the hands off casting on... till 2am! The knitting momentum is back and I just couldn't waste even a minute not having the needle in my hands.

I'll bring them out to places without En En following... which is rare, as you will never know whether you will have waiting session in between. I knit in the car while waiting for the traffic light to turn green... yeah... I know, I'm crazy these days.

I think I need a break. En En doesn't want a crazy mama... :) But I think I shall bring my knitting project with me for the ride back to Alor Setar later... DUH!

Seafood Feast

This is a backdated post.

Daddy and mummy went to Bali Hai at Gurney Drive with friends (daddy's colleagues) for a feast on seafood! Mummy never post anything on food before and this is the first time because it could be a memorable experience. As you can see from the board of the restaurant, it's written "If it swims, we have it!" You got to believe them.


Look at the crab... very yummylicious but we couldn't finish it with 11 persons and have to take away.


This is the local big prawn (large shrimp) and they are really giant in size. All the fish, crabs, lobsters,... in Bali Hai are alive in the chill water when you make your order. Mostly are imported species from US, Norway, Australia, Taiwan, and so on...

This is the shrimp cook with "tang hun" in hokkien (vermicelli?)


this is the sea cucumber cooked with mushrooms, brocolli and sea scallop in slices. A very authentic Chinese style dish.


The sweet and mildly fragant meat of the King's crab. It is very huge and enough to be prepared and cooked in two different styles from one crab.



Hot and spicy version of Alaska King Crab! Too hot till we couldn't taste the meat... what a put off!







This is the up close look of Alaska King Crab. We need to place order to have this dish... it's cost almost 700 bucks for one crab... depends on the size & weight!

Not in the list is the steam grouper, more than RM30 per 100g. Everyone was very satisfy with the meal and this could be the first or maybe the last time mummy having such a splendid meal. It cost, well... as expected:

Wool Soaker for Newborn

It's so small but CUTE!!! I wonder whether I knitted the correct size... looks like I have to get more practise... Ah Mah said it's more suitable for En En's pooh bear to wear.... haha...LOL!



En En was interrupting when mummy was discussing with Ah Mah on the knitting problems and En En can't help to entertain herself with the yarn while talking loudly by herself.

E-store for me?

Well, I did have the idea of having my own e-store BUT definitely not selling modern cloth diapers even I'm addicted to them. I'm addicted to scrapbooking too and since scrapbooking is still new in Malaysia, we don't have that much of choices compare to US for the supplies in local stores. Hence, they are scrappers who buy online from overseas as well. I feel great whenever I see I have items in my shopping cart, that's the satisfaction if you are a shopaholics.

I browsed alot on cloth diapers and scrapbooking e-stores and was wondering who is behind the scene? Could they hired software developers to developed such a fantastic e-bussiness software with shopping cart for the business operation? I was wrong! Those are services from Shopping cart software.



If I am going to have my own e-store one day, I just need to select one ecommerce software with build in shopping cart and voila! I can start my business in no time. Technology today creates wonders, don't you agree?

Amusement

Mummy learnt this from po po - a technique that always turn en en from crankiness to laughter... in fact, everyone laugh too. She was stunned for a while to figure out how the thing got inside her shirt and next how to take it out? Did this to her since she's 8 months old when we temporarily run out of ideas to calm her down...



It's en en's beloved poor bear which made up the big tummy... haha! LOL!

The many first time

First time addicted to sip cup... hmm... time for a change?


First attempt to brush teeth on her own...



First time meeting baby Bunny and friends... and since then En En will bugs daddy to show her pictures of bunny bunny from the laptop. Anyone knows where to get Baby bunny's cartoon?

The joy as an educator

Guess what it is? I'm glad and happy... it's an achievement of satisfaction! You can't measure it with any material stuff including money!

It's SEEING YOUR STUDENTS IMPROVE in their learning everyday!

I just found out I connected well with those music students whom I nearly gave up on them! They were not bright student and they didn't pay much attention during the lesson or never practise the piano even I persuaded and buy them sweets to encourage them moving on. I didn't like when it's their lesson slot (yes, I got to be frank to you all that teacher do have preferred students, OK?) and hope the time passed faster. LOL! I was a terrible teacher.

But lately seeing that they really pour hard work and effort at last makes me feel joyful. Be it for the concert or the coming exam... I know they are serious this time as I can see they are improving. My students are like my children, no matter how bad they are, as long as I don't give up on them... they are the hope of the future.

Moral of the story: It's tough to become an educator. Same goes to parenting too!

The art of communication

I spoke something which is not supposed to speak out that will affect the impression from both families. I'm really bad at delivering the good ones instead of bad ones and I did it without my concious. Realized I told the wrong person which I shouldn't but the damage already done. Therefore, more misunderstanding here and there... arrghh!

When you are in anger, in stress and pressure you will need someone to talk to. In this case not husband or wife nor immediate family members even you know that's the comfort that you can find but it's not helping in solving the problem. Probably the problem comes from my own as I have to admit my weakness - I'm easily to disclose every bad feelings or negatives thoughts that I have from other's family with my family. Yeah... the long and old stories of the in laws. I know I shouldn't but... I think I still fail as a person especially in communicating without hurting others' feeling. I never know that there are things that I can't simply points out even I dislike as being a straight forward individual at all times. To me, I still need to learn alot. Then again, I keep on bumping my head to the walls. Am I stubborn?

This is not something that you can read from books... it's a daily life practise. I realized it and still struggling to overcome this weakness eventhough I knew what I shall do. DH said that's why I fail in workplace and always hurt people without caring for other's feeling about what I said. (sounds so cruel?) Perhaps I shall learn to tell lie? DH also said that's because I have the pure heart, I can't compete in corporate world. I sure lose and die very fast... even my mum said I am a looser to do sales. I regretted I never become a lawyer, at least this profession will force me to learn the art and skill of communication. True?

I'm hopeless in teaching my kids on this matter coz I know I need to brush up on my own too. Therefore cannot complain much if the elders are going to deliver the positive teaching to the young ones. I believe one saying, the child is the reflection of his or her parent. Knowing my own weakness, I don't want my children to pick up negative values from me.

My problem is why I always disclose in stress even I knew I'm talking to the wrong listener? I just can't help and I really need help! Not from others but help from myself to outgrown it... Yes, no one is perfect. Even as a parent there are thoughts or values that we shall outgrow which we carry from young. Agree?

19 Months Old

Today marks that En En reached 19 months old. She's picking up vocab and words very fast now. She mimics our pronunciation very much regardless it's in Mandarin, English or Malay. She gets almost 70-90% accurate.

Vital:

Height : almost the same as previous month
Weight : 11kg (no increment)
Teeth : 16 with some still sprouting halfway

Bowel movement issues:
Serious constipation everyday. We are giving her oral solution to ease her bowel movement as the solution will help to soften and retain moisture of the stool. as long as we skip one day without solution she won't have the urge to do her big business. Temporarily have to use this solution besides looking for anymore ideas to encourage her to take more fluid!

Diet:
Basically the same and she started to take cauliflower, bayam, bak choy,... more fiber to help her bowel movement.

She still have night feeding depending on her sleep time interval. Mummy has to calulate after 6 hours after she doozed off, it's time to feed her 4 oz milk. If En En doesn't make noise or sleep like a log then no need.

Words that she can speak and able to identify (the item):

En En tries to mimic what we tell her again when we ask her to say it out loud. words that consists of 2 to 3 parts of different vowel is still difficult for her to say one shot. For example when we said flower, she only manage to said "-Wer".



Overall Development:

1) able to push the little stool to the door, snapped or bugged us to get the door key, climb up the stool and use to key for attempting to escape from the house.

2) no more bathtub for her bath since she will lay egg in the bathtub not willing to get up till she or us empty the water in the bathtub. There was one day she asked Ah Mah "ba-tup bu4 yao4 ah?" (No need to use bathtub in mandarin)
She misses the baby bathtub.

3) able to drink from cup very steady now provided the water in the cup is not full.

4) knows to feel shame and get angry if we tease her when she's wihout a diaper or clothes.

5) understand that when going out from the house need to wear shoes. She will quickly take her shoes and ask us to wear for her after she fails to wear on her own.

6) if she doesn't want to drink water or read that particular book she will place back to their original place. Book in bookshelf and bottle goes back to table.

7) mummy only brought en en to the pool once and she remembers it until today. Whenever she see the sea or a pool she will shout:"Miee... pom pom (means swimimng for baby talk)!" She is waiting for a day that I will bring her to the pool again.

Clingy and always on the go baby!

En En clings to mummy more now... maybe mummy return home from work earlier and always bring her out for kai-kai more often now. Mummy can hear she murmurs "kai-kai" & "ma~miee" in her dream too!

Mummy think this is a good sign (cling to mummy more) because En En was more close to her Ah Kong & Ah Mah since they look after her during daytime and she didn't even bother when I was back from work.... *sob, sob* so sad... Yes, lesson learnt - spend more time with your child. Mummy does, especially in sharing good food to eat, time to play and get crazy together, involve in her activities and story telling helps too. Mummy loves to play flash cards and peek-a-boo with her. Trust me, En En still love this by saying "a-cha..." ( in a longer and sweet pitch) and chasing her on all four like a monster... LOL! Mummy can play almost any games she is interested... but looks like mummy need to get more flexible & durable by practise back Tai-Chi (opps... almost forgot I know TaiChi) & yoga.

We brought En En to Tesco last night for shopping. Everything was new for her as we seldom bring her there. She was very well behave and never ask to get down from the shopping trolley. She is in love with cold~ hmm... how shall I describe? Mummy bought her the Yoghurt drinks in bottle and she seems like enjoying the coldness by holding it tightly against her body... throughout our shopping and in the car when we were riding back home. Weird baby...

En En will be so contented after every outing regardless where we go. She even protests to sleep if we never bring her out when she's expecting to be out from the house! There are times when she was sleeping or after just woke up from a nap straight away you will hear she shouted:"kai-kai!!!"

some thought: Is there any relation that Mummy was outgoing during the pregnancy cause the baby prefer to go out from the house often in later life?

Celebrating Po Po's birthday

Gong Gong and Po Po will be coming to visit us again this Thursday and it's Po po's birthday too. Aunt Jess (yi yee) will be in Penang tomorrow with her college mates & friends from KL. Then Yi Yee will join us on Thursday for the birthday dinner. Nothing special it will be another family gathering occassion.

En En is such a lucky baby, she has everyone coming from Alor Setar and KL to visit her often and even any celebrations, everyone will think of her and plan for her to join in. So, Mummy's to do list is to book accomodation and then find a yummy place for the upcoming event.

Because it's Christmas

I went to post office today to get my mail weight and intended to buy stamps. I made a few christmas cards for a few friends. It's time to post out. My handmade cards and my envelope from recycle papers weight heavier than normal one. I was preparing to pay maybe RM1 or 2 for the stamps even it's just post within the country.

To my surprise, the clerk from Pos Malaysia told me 30 cents for all christmas cards nationwide! What are you waiting for... send out now regardless of the weight as long as you stated it's a Christmas card! Bravo to pos malaysia.

Vocab Power

En En picks up new word very fast nowadays. So, we have to mind our speech daily! She is able to follow or mimic our pronunciation either in Mandarin or English. Most of the time it is almost 80-90% accurate.

Don't know why recently she prefers to sleep back in bouncer at night and commanded us to swing her. She will says: "Ah mie... yao2 (means swing in mandarin)!" Last night she saw daddy went in bedroom earlier and straight away told us: "Papa... yao2!" I guess she's enjoying to be threated like a princess and poor mummy and daddy become her slave. Guess that's why daddy always will remain downstairs till late night. LOL...

Next when we are riding in the car, she's now very interested in different types of vehicles, particularly bus. She will point and says out loud "Ba..." whenever a bus passes by. She even can differentiate and tell us "loli" (lorry). She's learning van now but still not yet spoken out.

We are amazed when she's able to follow us to do counting 1,2,3... in mandarin. It starts like this:

Mummy: yi (1)...
En En : (follow) yi... or sometimes er (2)... immediately
Mummy: san (3)
En En : san...
Mummy: si (4)
En En : wu (5) *surprise!*
Mummy: liu (6)

En En: "Ohhhh...." (the loudest)

En En understand Malay language too. My maid speak Malay with her and even En En can't speak back but she really understand. We tested her a few words:

Ah Mah : pointing to her muslin (cloth nappy) "Apa ini?" what is this
En En : "pinn... (lampin/muslin)"
Ah Mah : "Mana hidung?" where is your nose?
En En : pointing her nose
Ah Mah : "Nak makan?" want to eat?
En En : shake head
Ah Mah : "Mau susu?" do you want milk?
En En : nodded her head then happily sucking her bottle later

Then mummy teach her a few simple english word like sit, walk, open door, close door, take, put down, clap you hands... and her favourite is "tap-tap" (actually it's "step step"). She loves to sit at the staircase and ask us to step our feet with her. It started from the children song:

Not-so-good characters

En En show her possessive character in so many ways. She is the only baby at home even she's a big baby now. When she wants us to pay attention to her, she will come to you and screams! Or sometimes not coming to you and scream from where she is. Recently, she likes to scream so much... it is very noisy at home.

Ah Mah was having painful arm as a result of carrying En En as this little girl already grown alot compare to when she's just a baby. Ah Kong will help to massage Ah Mah's arm with counterpain cream or oilment. Whenever En En see this, she will scream and show us her unpleasant look as if she refuses Ah Kong to "hurt" Ah Mah. If Ah Kong continues, En En will go for "rescue" and pull Ah Kong's hand away from Ah Mah's arm! But En En never knows when she's cuddling and rolling over Ah Mah's body when she's lying for rest, En En in fact hits Ah Mah countless time accidentally and that hurts too!

En En doesn't allow daddy to hug mummy or mummy to hug daddy. She will give us the long face (jealous??!!) But she wants us to hug her! *roll eyes* Even we ask her to kiss Ah Kong & Ah Mah or anyone that's not following everytime she go kai-kai (outing), she will go to you and let you kiss her but not she kisses you.

The part that everyone enjoy most is teaching En En to ask permission and say "please" whenever she needs our help to get her something. She will goes like: "Mieee.... (in a VeRy HiGh & LoNg PiTcH!!!), pled!" or "papa-pled!" or "papa-pi" especially when she's asking us to take her out kai-kai.

The little fella won't let anyone take her stuff and share her toys even with us. So, I guess we will have disciplin class often at home and daddy even suggested to buy cane too.

Healy passed me this tag for quite some times already and I nearly forgot to do! I think I got to finish it by hook or by crook...

1. I met my hubby online and since then we have never ending conversations. We click so well and we share alot of interests... read me? A lot of different interests! So, it's not neessary to have things in common to start a topic.

2. I have 3 blogs. One for parenting life (you are here!!!), one for my passion about cloth diapering and another one is addicted to scrapbooking (yes, paper scrapbooking!)

3. Learning about the chemical terms and ingredients for skin care produts and cosmetics is another hobby of mine. We have the choice to be a knowledgeable and wiser consumer. Read up ladies!

4. I pick up crochet because I wish to make my own pretty crocheted dinner bag and learn to knit because I need to use wool cover for the modern fitted nappy. It's another way to save up money if you are able to make you own! Maybe will try sewing in another years to come.

5. I work fulltime but I don't have a career, I just have a job to sustain myself financially. Just feel wasted for what I had learned from uni life and I strongly believe it is not necessary to have a degree or master cert to be a sucessful person in life. Hubby is my proud real life example.

6. I am trying to recycle more from house. I wish to bring the awareness and educate my family members no matter they will practise or not. Everyone deserve to be aware about the latest issues about our planet.

7. I like animals particularly dogs and cats but cannot have my own since hubby is against the idea. Perhaps one day after I retire I could help in WWF! Note: Not World Wrestling Federation, this time is World Wildlife Federation!

Butterfly

We teach En En about butterfly when she's still a crawling baby. Right now, she loves butterfly. When mummy was doing scrapbooking one day and thought of using butterfly in the layout. En En was sleeping but woke up when mummy was working halfway for the layout.

As usual, this little one is curious about what mummy is doing with all her pretty photos and she always asked me to carry her up and see what's mummy's creation (not really la... to disturb me actually). Mummy realised En En loves colourful papers and stuffs so mummy use the craft knife and cut out 2 paper butterflies shape and asked En En what is it? Without hesitation En En replied: " Fly, fly!"

Then mummy asked En En to show everyone what she had in her hand so that she can get busy for a while while mummy able to quickly finished off the layout before she came and disturb next round.

En En saw real butterflies before in mummy's hometown and we plan to bring her visit the Butterfly Farm in Penang. Anyway, the entrance fee at the moment is RM10 per person (maybe higher in future, who knows?) and daddy said wait till En En abit older then we can go together.

Wrestle Mania!

En En loves to watch wrestling show... trust me! She's just like her Ah Kong and daddy who can watch the show till forgot to eat and sleep! Mummy also know a few famous wrestler from the wrestling show such as WWF (World Wrestling Federation) and TNA after watching with them. :P

She used the king size bed as her wrestling ring and we surrounded the bed with bolsters and pillows. Her wrestle partners? Sure will be all her pooh bears and other plush toys. She was having a great time in the ring till she noticed that we were recording down her movements. The video clip is abit long but it's funny to look at her. She's such a cute little one and we hope she's not developing into another violent baby.

More Pacifier

We bought any brand of the pacifier for En En and mainly last only for 1 week or 10 days. If mummy is not mistaken, En En had almost 8 pacifier since 4 months old (yes... mummy can't wait to wean you off coz you are too addicted!!!) excluding the one that she's having now.

Since she has teeth, this is what happen to those "shorter-life" paci...





The longer life span of pacifier in market... so far tested and it got to be Avent.

We tried not to give her pacifier and even gave her the spoilt one but she's still enjoying sucking while we are worrying that she might swallow the silicone which already torn. So, when we don't offer her she sucks her finger till like this. Any tips from mummies or daddies?

It's got to be 18! The year I spent for practising Wushu in preparation for the SEA Games. It was such a fun experience to lived abroad only for more practise and learning from the expert China coaches. That whole year I only concentrated to practising and my daily routine was like eat, sleep, practise, rest and more practise! I even considered to become a professional wushu exponent and further my study about sports. Nevertheless, that was the year I had the fittest body and the best health!

1) Diaper Free by Ingrid Bauer

2) Green Parenting from a UK publisher

when I visited Borders this afternoon. Diaper Free? This is very interesting, I can imagine baby's bum exposed when crawling... very cute... haha! Green Parenting is a book covers all aspects living as a parent in raising your child which includes household item, clothing, food, toys... and many more but I don't have the time to flip through in details.

Browsed online and.... BINGO! I found Diaper Free & Green Parenting too! Another interesting one that I'm going to read will be Nappy Free Baby! This is the term - Elimination Communication that perhaps some parent nowadays still practise and definitely the method my parent used to potty trained us when disposable diapers was still in the invention period!

Breastfeeding babies has lesser output?

Am referring to fully bf babies... especially calling mummies who has experience on one child was on formula milk and another was on breast milk (bm). Is there really a difference that formula feed babies are mostly heavywetter?? All I know is bf babies have very runny poo poo.

When I was trying so hard to get En En latched on the earlier days but noticed her wetting is so little. PIL and my parent were stressing me to give her formula and water. (Claimed that En En never get enough liquid) I was leaking that time and I don't think I have milk production problem. The problem is I didn't consistently bf her after introduced her the formula milk and I thought I could changed her back to the b**bies but it never susceed.

Since then, she's having big volume of output till we label her as one heavywetter baby. What about infant on bm vs toddler on bm? Are they still not any heavywetter? Please share with me your experience.

Immunization: Infant & Toddler

Mummy is not very responsible as mummy never wants to bother whether it's time to get En En for vaccination. I'm just so lousy, isn't it? All this while mummy just follow the immunization schedule in En En's pink book from the hospital she was borned and sorry to say up till today En En still never get her chicken pox vaccination yet.

Ok... ok... many mummies are wondering and asking why is it so... it's mummy's fault coz mummy think it's alright since En En never go to any day care center or mix around with other kids. So it's not really that bad if mummy delay the shot. One more thing is mummy thinks the more advanced that country the more weaken their natural immune system... so that's why they have so many types of vacccinations introduced. Mummy just don't know why having this weird mindset but it's actually true if compare children from India or Philipines (normally the developing countries) they are more strong even without proper or luxury medical aids and facilities. But when we turn to developed countries, it is where we found most children have higher risk of getting allergies, many more civilization diseases... this and that. Or maybe this is just merely mummy's thought?? Again it feels bad to see our little one suffer from fever, get cranky, moody and no appetite to eat after the jab! It just doesn't feel good :(

We do have very good medical facilities be it in private or government hospital. Mummy visited government hospital when preggie with En En because mummy had placenta previa according to gynea. But thank God En En was delivered full termed in a private hospital. After En En turned 6 months old, all her vaccinations were done at the government hospital.

Mummy just read up some immunizations articles from Baby Center and think there are some good reasons to get immuned rather than having that weird mindset to get jab!

Suddenly mummies turned to be WAHM and modern cloth diaper is really a Hot Cakes in Malaysia!!!

Ever since with En En in my life, it's so colourful and grateful. Seeing that she is growing and learning everyday really made me a proud person. At least I can tell the world that there's someone call me "Ma~mie"!

18 Months = 1.5 year old

It's hard to believe that my baby is 1.5 year old today! She grows taller and wiser (naughtier) everyday. En En is very good in reading people's facial expression... she knows when to behave and when to go crazy with us. She's also one emotional baby, she will shed tears when she sees a very sad incident from the TV or drama!

En En went for her measles & polio jab today and of course she screamed and cried!

Vital:

Height : 81cm

Weight: 11kg

Teeth : This time mummy remember to record down, 8+4+4

Dietary Intake:

She still take oatmeal with meat or fruits in the morning. Alternate day will take 1 kampung (farm?) egg. Porridge for lunch and dinner. Love soups and fish.

She rejects totally on plain water and will compromise if the water has different colours other than tranparent colour. Milk intake about 6-7oz. Anyway, if we allow her to play the water using spoon in a cup then she will just open her mouth and swallow plain water that we feed her *roll eyes*

She is not keen on biscuit nowadays as she will play with the biscuit after a few bites.

Words that she master lately:

star - she's able to tell us "star" when she see the star in her book

ta4 ta4 - in mandarin means riding bicycle, guess she's referring to bicycle since Gong Gong just get her a new bicycle

bu1 yao4 - don't want in mandarin

yao4 - means want in mandarin

ge1 - means song in mandarin, she will says this when she wants us to play her the music VCD or when she saw someone's singing.

you3 - means got/have in mandarin

mei2 you3 - means no more/doesn't have in mandarin

So, right now we are able to communicate more with her as she already manage to express herself verbally.


Development:

1) En En is able to run and jump very steady now.

2) She is able to throw her plush toy up, not far away.

3) She is able to tell when she is hungry and will ask for "mum mum".

4) Interested in using the broom to sweep the floor and she's learning to use it happily.

5) Able to walk up and down from the staircase with the help of the staircase handle.

6) When we asked her where is the guitar, she will bring us the badminton racquet. Looks similiar yeah... LOL!

7) Able to recognise very quickly on different types of animals when we show her the animals picture such as bird, cat, bear, elephant, fish, lion, duck, zebra, tiger, deer, monkey, kangaroo,...

8) When we say exercise, En En will starts jumping and stretching her hands up and down.

9) Lately, love to watch The Sound of Music movie especially loves to watch the children running, playing and singing. She understands funny scene as she will laugh out loud for it.

10) Last but not least, she weaned herself off from bouncer and able to sleep on her own when she gets quiet for a few minutes.

Goodbye to Bouncer

En En was introduced to bouncer when she was very young. She get used to people to swing her into dreamland. Sometimes we got to swing the bouncer for 30-60 minutes in order to make her sleep! We can't wait to wean her off her attachement to the bouncer for her sleep and nap. That's the reason why she can't leave the house or go vacation with us since we have to carry the bouncer along. The bouncer we have is very big and En En still fit in when she is 15 months old. It is a partly custom-made bouncer and was passed down from SIL who used it for her 2 daughters.

Unfortunately, once En En grows taller the bouncer become so uncomfortable to sleep in. En En loves to jump instead of sleep on the bouncer if she has something to hold besides the bouncer. *roll eyes*

Lately, she refused to sleep in the bouncer and we are happy that she, in fact is able to sleep on her own without anyone rocking, swinging, singing or story-telling to her! She weaned herself off and we are so proud of her. So, big girl solve her own matters!

Conflicting mind towards paid post

Bloggers nowadays write paid post. I also wish to write on products review and get paid by the company. This is the norm today and everyone is so happy that they earn from blogging, I put it in simple words: Earn money while doing things that like you like such as blogging. So simple? Yes, sounds so tempted and easy, I'll have to admit writing paid post is a new way to get some pocket money. Yes, I'm tempted so sweet talk me into writing ppp... :P

My initial intention to have a blog is to keep my journal and to be frank, I do have a diary when I was a teenager. I just found 2 of my diaries from home and reading back what I wrote is so much fun and interesting. I stopped to write on diary when I further my study in college and university. Then, I was amazed with a blog's capabilities and that's why I start to write blog so that I can keep the memory in words or pictures. (Well, I'm quite a forgetful person, you know...)

There are a few things that I worry if I ever start to write paid post: spam and many other hidden technical issues which I don't know or clueless with. I wish to keep my blog as clean as possible like now (I think it's impossible once the traffic is getting heavy). All the expert bloggers out there, please share with me how do you overcome the spam problem and your most terrible experience with paid post?

To be frank, I quite like the way Mybabybay, Shoppingmum and GiddyTiger present their paid post in a new site. That's means more blogs to handle *fainted*

Lost & Found!

Yippee... yes, the 3-diamonds pendant was found! Not in the house but in the bank's safe. MIL and DH never gave up and tried their luck to search through most suspicious places. Since when I kept in the safe? I really have no idea and I got my lesson in a real terrible way.

Baby Doggie Bagpack

This is a free gift from daddy. We all know that En En loves dog. Daddy won it from the arcade games from a shopping mall. Yeah... daddy is still a big kid and what mummy interested is En En's reaction when she saw the doggie bag. She was screaming out loud!!!

Look at this little girl. She was so happy and busy checking on the dog. Too bad her passion for the doggie bag only last for 2 days and she still prefer her little Pooh bear for all times. Guess this doggie back pack has nothing to attract En En as it can't move or bark!

Happy Blogging Wish

I lost my diamond pendant

It's a 3-diamonds pendant! Not really big diomands but got sentimental value. It disappeared together with my white gold necklace which I bought on my own! I was searching it high and low since... before En En was borned. Well, being a forgetful person (and not so well in organising stuff compare to daddy) , for most of the things that got missing they are hardly to find back. I'm miserable, and wonder where did I put them?

Last night I did a mini spring clean in the bedroom and even clean all the cabinets and drawers, still no miracle... but I found 200 bucks in my jewelry box. See, this is me! Last time I found some 50 bucks from books as bookmark which I already forgotten when I slided them in between the pages. Basically for my case, when I'm really looking for that item in a rush or panic situation, I couldn't find any. Mostly I can found back accidentally. I feel bad about losing this 3-diamonds pendant since 2 years ago and I started to suspect this one might be a real missing.

I guess it's really gone missing now. Daddy was very upset about this, the 3-diamonds pendant is a gift from him. I feel so bad too as being a "tai tou har" (means forgetful)... feel so sorry to him as I failed to keep my precious stone. The sad (and surprised) part daddy said is we haven't take a picture on the pendant to keep for memory.

Mission No.1: Mummy got to learn to be more organized from daddy
Mission No.2: Snap pictures of whatever precious pieces that we have for keepsake!
Mission No.3: Might do scrapbook on them too...

When En En is away in Alor Setar...

En En currently staying with po po (mummy's mom) for 1 week already. We will bring her back this coming weekend.

So, basically, when En En is away from Alor Setar, mummy:
- Wash clothes
- Iron clothes
- Clean the toilet
- Wash dishes everyday
- Wash car
- Mop the floor
- Clean the furniture
- Do some cooking

Basically become a temporarily maid at home because kakak followed En En to Alor Setar. En En is really the little princess that need both sides' grandma to pay full attention for her. Thereofre, must get kakak to take over those normal household chores.

On top of that, mummy got some time to read on cooking & yoga books, do knitting (yes, more knitting for practise), scrapbooking which had been abadon for months! Yay....!!! Who said mummy will be free when baby is not around??

Mummy snapped this pic right after En En woke up one morning before mummy changed her from her pyjamas. Well, ok mummy just pulled off her pants and ta-daa... the blue knitted soaker was shown!

Mummy never wear En En in wool cover during daytime but probably if the room is 24 hours with air-con still on, it's alright and don't think it is hot. Wool in fact is very breathable and it treated with lanolin is water resistant, air permeable, and slightly antibacterial, so it resists the buildup of odor.
