Never give up to Suckle!
He's so determine! Taken when mummy was having bleeding nipple and he's not giving up to suckle anything that close to the mouth! He motivated mummy to get help asap!
natural for newborns to want to suckle. it's their survival instinct. Mine will suck on his mittens. Baby Zheng wearing En En's clothes ah? All pink hehehhee
all babies are different, some like to suck more than others. Brienna sucks her hands or anything else her mouth touches if she is hungry. Once not hungry she doesnt suck, though sometimes she would try to suck something to sleep (breast, blanket etc).
I tend to agree with your MIL, if he wants to suckle to sleep use a pacifier, instead of the breast (otherwise you will be 'chained' to him for a long long time!). You can wean him off pacifier around 5 months, he shouldnt get 'addicted' to it if weaned off early.

LOL! It's like that. :)
But once he finds his fist or thumb, he will rely less on breast. I think my kids started suckling their fists at 2nd month.
paik ling: ya lor.... don't waste the old clothes mah...
shoppingmum: really ah? I tot my boy still prefer breast ler... MIL also suggested to give pacifier if her still want to suckle breast to sleep.
