Serious Constipation!

En En's constipation is very serious and paed told us that she has swollen anus and she will be having very difficult time for her bowel movement. It may take 6 months for a full heal... poor girl...

This condition is a result from probably a few months constipated issues whereby En En already developed the fear when it's time to pass motion. Once she feels that it hurts during the big business, she would rather keep the stool in her stomach and wait for the next day and the next day... no wonder she has bloated tummy and that's how she has stool as hard as a stone!

We tried to give her more fluid and fiber diet but still not enough to overcome her constipation problem. The main reason is she purposely refuse to finish her big business due to pain.

We have to give her oral laxative-like medicine and apply vaseline at her bottom to prevent the tear and pain when she's doing her business. Awww... mummy know this is a terrible experience. En En now has phobia and fear whenever we tried to wear her a diaper as she thought she will be having some poke at her bottom. But what to do? Mummy is so sad to hear En En's crying and moaning... and hardly can imagine if this is going to be repeated in the worst case... for the next following 6 months?

em... stop the meat, fish, white rice intake. Gave her more vege+fruits juice (use normal brander) and eat brown rice. it will help. Hope she is ok soon.

Poor En En, i totally understand how you feel. I gone through all the stuff that you mentioned before. My DD used to have serious constipation for 8 months !! Have you tried giving her the prune juice? not added with any water. Give around 3,4 Oz everyday to En En for a week to see whether there is any improvement. I remember when i first started my DD on prune juice she didn't seems to have any improvement but slowly the stool become softer and softer. I also found out that dragon fruits is able soften the stool a bit. Prune juice still the one that work best on my DD.

Both Tim and Emily had bad constipation. We use to standby those constipation suppository.

Hey you can try to change her milk powder that have prebio (nespray/sustagen). Reduce biscuits, fried stuff, corn flakes like honey star, coco crunch.

Take dragon fruits, papaya or prune. Lastly you can let her drink Yakult every day.

Ching Ern had hard stool when we changed her formula. What I did was to dilate the milk by reducing the scoops of formula ( like 7oz of water with 5 scoop of formula)

if it's tough to feed fluid, you can consider give vege as snack. The trick we use to feed Ching Ern on water is TV adv time..she was so engrossed watching the tele and so, just kept on gulp down the water.

Yogurt helps too...
