Terrible Nightmares?

Mummy and daddy couldn't have good night sleep during our break for Chinese New Year and even now after we were back to work. En En did it again this morning around 2.30a.m and 6a.m. She was crying hysterically, screaming out loud especially if mummy tried to put her down to bed or bouncer after comforting her. Worst still, she was pointing at the bedroom door with the eyes shut and we wonder how she knows the door's direction? There were a few times we have to wake her as she won't stop crying if mummy never stand up and walk around after carrying her. She requested us to go out from the room! As if she wants to go kai-kai.

Sometimes, it works after comforting her with a little rocking in mummy's arms and she also requested mummy to swing her after putting her down at the bouncer. So, welcome back the use of bouncer again. Arrgh... Even during daytime, En En is now turning into one little fussy, noisy and cranky monster as she will just throw anything on hands when she's playing alone and scream out loud of a sudden.

Is it nightmares during sleep? Too many outings and people to meet during this festive season? Overstimulated?

Sharine, when qiqi was younger, she cried a lot and had terrible nites too, especially when we travel back to hometown...too much play and movement will stimulate young children. Guess thats the reason En En is not settle during the festive seasons...

Not sure if it's overstimulation or... well, Arthur is generally a happy baby... there was once he acted like En En... we were worried and unsure so we brought him to the Doctor.. turned out it was an ear infection. Perhaps, you might want to check it out? This is one infection that you cannot really detect and yes, it is contagious. Indeed, Arhur got it from his cousin who was visiting at the time.

Can't help much here since Sean is behaving like En-En too. Jess may be about the ear infection.

Hope they are not night terrors. Yes, overstimulation can be the culprit.

Maybe you can use soft music to help her to tune down the brain activities during the night before sleep. It helps.

Last resort if all things fail would be to consult a doctor.

sigh ...it's must be very hard time for you & your husband. En En enjoys 'kai kai'. Not too sure whether have you try to negotiate with her (like may be have deal that to bring her out in some others day) instead of just throw tantrum.
I usually use this trick to my elder daughter, and it's worked.
However, I'm for sure will do whatever i have promise to her :p
~~~~~~ some of my thought to share with :0
Could it be the fire crackers on the CNY eve and the Ti Kung eve?
That would trigger off a lot of nightmare for a kid.
Oh, I can understand the frustration of not being able to settle her down. Sometimes CE's like that too, after a period full of activities n play. But if he refuses to be carried/comforted, just cont. to cry in his sleep, I'll scold him loudly. Most times, that'll shut him up a bit. :p
